Pope Francis: Use internet to offer 'real reasons for hope'
Pope Francis recently spoke about the Internet as a crucial means of evangelization, especially to youth. He said that it is essential [for churches] to be present [on the Internet], always in an evangelical way, in what, for many, especially young people, has become a sort of living environment; to awaken the irrepressible questions of the heart about the meaning of existence; and to show the way that leads to Him who is the answer, the Divine Mercy made flesh, the Lord Jesus.”
The Pope's comments are heartening to readers of this site, encouraging us to see the Internet not as an obstacle but a means of engaging people in a conversation about that which matters most.
His comments came at the 26th Plenary Assembly of the Pontifical Council for the Laity, meeting under the theme “Proclaiming Christ in the Digital age,” Learn more about his comments here.
